STAFF & TEAM DEVELOPMENT
The importance of quality staff development has long been seen as a vital strategic tool, identified by managers as a way to motivate team-members and promote integration with different areas within an organisation. Whereas some staff development activities focus on non-participatory activities, we believe that participation in an involved team event is the best way to promote a better understanding of communication and leadership while providing managers with some valuable feedback on their employees’ performances. While the issue of safety is of paramount importance to us, at Juno IV Sailing we find that the key to a successful event is to ensure that activities are conducted in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
Yachting is now becoming increasingly fashionable as individuals like Ellen MCarther demonstrate what a demanding yet hugely enjoyable sport it can be. Sailing offers a myriad of benefits for managers to assess how their staff-members perform in strange and new environments, and it is seen as a great way to bring together people from different areas within an organisation. And it is seen as a great way to bring together people from different areas within an organisation.

GRADUATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES
In today’s challenging, global economic environment it is more important than ever to recruit and retain the right staff in order to maintain a competitive advantage in the market. As competition increases to attract the very finest calibre graduates it is vital to ensure that your graduate development programme stands out from the crowd.
An effective way of achieving this is to choose an exciting and original schedule of participatory events which will give staff an opportunity to socialise together, to build relationships and to actively grow as a team away from the office environment, whilst simultaneously giving their employers valuable performance-related feedback.
Yacht sailing provides an excellent platform to reward and motivate your graduate recruits, but yachting is also a superb team sport as individuals strive to complete individual tasks which in turn directly affect overall team success. Our bespoke packages offer businesses the chance to place their staff into a dynamic, alien and challenging environment and to gain a valuable understanding of how they might perform in a fast-moving and pressurised business environment.
Our specially designed activities require participants to listen to instructions, learn new roles and communicate effectively as a team in order to achieve success. We ensure that every participant is given the chance to lead the group through a number of exercises designed to develop communication and group control skills while increasing confidence. Our activities can be delivered as formally or informally as you require and we strive to create a level platform so that people with a wide range of abilities and strengths of character can participate on an equal basis.
One of our most popular packages is a day of competitive match racing aboard smaller racing yachts which carry up to 5 passengers and one skipper. As the yachts are identical, the racing is often close and exciting and their modest size means that even total novices can concentrate on enjoying the exhilaration of yacht racing and working with their team to win the race!
At Juno IV Sailing, one of our priorities is to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and memorable time and the photo-shoot and prize-giving session at the end of each event will leave everyone feeling motivated and satisfied with their achievements.
So, if you would like to put your graduates through their paces and send them on an exhilarating team development weekend, or if you would like to organise a memorable departmental offsite around the breathtaking scenery of the Solent, you can be assured that Juno IV Sailing will work with you before, during and after the event to successfully deliver a product that meets your objectives without exceeding your budget.”

TEAM JUNO IV SAILING
While yacht sailing is becoming increasingly popular, it is still rather inaccessible for many people. We often hear from our customers that while they love nothing more than to slip the lines, head out to sea and enjoy a great day’s sailing, they are often prevented from doing so due to time or financial constraints. Furthermore, we are aware of the common problem people encounter when they attend lessons, reach a certain level of proficiency and then hit an invisible wall, unsure of to progress their sailing.
To overcome this problem, you could buy your own yacht, but few people can justify the purchase and maintenance costs of a good quality yacht especially if they intend to use it for typically three or four weekends a year. Alternatively, you could charter a yacht for a week on holiday abroad, but sailing for one week is rarely enough to satisfy most people’s passion for the sport. Another approach is to join a yacht club and try to meet yacht owners who require crew. This, however, gives you little choice in where you sail or when.
At Juno IV Sailing, we have addressed this problem by establishing our Team Wavelength Events – cost effective and practical ways of furthering your enjoyment of the sport, designed by sailors for sailors. Our mission is to make sailing increasingly accessible for people from all backgrounds and with varied levels of experience in a relaxed and friendly environment.
By attending a Team Juno IV Sailing event, you are joining other, like-minded individuals with whom you can share experiences and work together as a team to increase your experience and enjoyment of the sport.
Our Team Juno IV Sailing packages are divided into 3 main cateogries: Racing, Cruising and Experience Building. Our social club - Team Juno IV Sailing Social – offers a wide range of benefits to members including progressive discounts on events and clothing, invitation to our Team Juno IV Sailing Social yachting events, copy of our bi-annual newsletter and other exclusive deals.
